Make Like a Tree : Mothernight (to be released on 20th March, 2019)
Beautiful ambient-folk music which colours the world.
On 20th March, we'll release the third album from 'Make Like a Tree’, a music and photography project produced by Sergey Onischenko, the vagabond from Ukraine who is touring around the world, spreading his indie-folk tunes with a touch of non-conformism and Beat Generation ideas whilst exhibiting his minimalistic landscape photography taken in omnifarious places during his journeys.
For this album, various artists who met Sergey and sometimes shared stages with him in Japan, Kenya, Tanzania, Russia, Ukraine, Austria, Italy, Norway, Catalonia, and Armenia, appear as guest players with their own instruments such as piano, violin, trumpet, hurdy gurdy, and synthesizer. Also, Sergey's often effected compositions add an ambient beauty to his natural folk songs. This sound, with no regard for national borders invites the listener to feel the magnificent world where you have never seen.
The album has been self recorded in a portable home studios in the suburbs of Tokyo, Japan and on beautiful island of Zanzibar, then polished by the ocean breeze and heavy sunlight of Tanzania. The mastering was done by Thomas Meidell in Metropolis Studios in Oslo, Norway and the artwork was completed by Japanese painter, Youji Otsuki. We, Ricco Label, will co-release this album with This and That Tapes in US, Dreaming Gorilla Records in Italy, Floppy Dischi in Italy, and Entes Anomicos in Germany.
This album unites many nations and makes borders vanish through the power of music.
